Thank you for all the help you have given on this boat purchase, you have gone above and beyond to make this work, and is truly appreciated. Between us, in the first instance I had contacted a broker in Lancashire and a broker in Scotland near our home, but got very little enthusiasm from either of them to help with a purchase. "When we decided to sell our boat we approached David at Boatshed Hayling. He came to meet us on the boat and clearly explained how the process worked and once we assured him that we wanted to go ahead with the sale he took several pictures to create a listing on the website. He spent about an hour with us to familiarise himself with the boat. He went back to the boat a few days later to take many more pictures, to add to the listing on the website. This meant that within a few days he already had people interested in viewing the boat. David and Bruce showed the boat to a few interested parties, and within a few weeks of the boat going up for sale David called me to let me know that a very interested couple wanted to go out on a sea trial. Both David and Bruce came along for the sea trial, which went very well, and gave the buyers a chance to ask us any additional questions about the boat. They loved the boat, and took it away the very same day! I was very pleased with how quickly and professionally David handled the sale of our boat. The listing was accurate and the photographs were of a very high standard. The whole process went very smoothly and the boat was sold quicker than I expected"

I contacted Phil Key initially by phone and he explained the selling process clearly. I cannot recommend Sam, from Boatshed in Gosport (Portsmouth) enough as a sales broker. She was suggested to me by someone who has helped me out with running repairs on my catamaran for years. He told me she was “straight talking”, and a “no nonsense” person whom you could trust. He was absolutely right. Her presale advice was invaluable; she immediately identified what needed to be repaired/renewed before the boat was made available for viewing, and her insight into what buyers look at was invaluable. She saved me spending on useless items, whilst minor details I considered irrelevant were flagged up as worthy of attention. My catamaran is clearly intended for the Carribean or Mediterranean market, not an easy sale in Gosport. Nevertheless, I had two serious offers within 4 weeks of putting her on the market, and one of these lead to a successful sale a couple of weeks later. A significant achievement. If you are thinking of selling your boat in or near Gosport, talk to Sam from Boatshed first. You will not regret it.
